Northern light tour in evening. The Lofoten Islands is situated right under the Northern Lights oval, which means there are good chances to catch glimpses of the lady Aurora when here. Our trip mainly take you to those parts of the island where there are better chances to see it and the light pollution is minimal. Our Northern light guide is an experienced photographer, and will make sure that you learn the necessary techniques to catch the Aurora Borealis on your camera.
Day 2 : Lofoten Islands
Lofoten in a nutshell: Our host will guide you through the picturesque landscape by minivan, typical for the Lofoten islands. Along the way we stop at historical sites, beaches and the mandatory photo stops that you cannot miss in Kabelvåg, Lyngvær, Hov and Henningsvær. You can sit back in a comfortable van and enjoy the scenery while we introduce you to the fishing culture and history, plus a taste of Lofoten. As the day unfolds, we venture into the wild heart of Lofoten's countryside, where the rugged beauty of the Arctic landscape can be admired. Our final stop is Gimsøy Church, a historic landmark dating back to the 12th century. This charming wooden church exudes serenity and tranquillity, set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
Day 3 : Lofoten Islands
Sea Eagle Safari to Trollfjorden: A trip made for nature enthusiasts! You get the chance to see sea eagles and experience some of the most scenic landscapes in Lofoten. The tour starts from the quayside in Svolvær. We will take you through Raftsundet before we enter Trollfjorden. This is some of the most dramatic scenery that Norway has to offer. There is a large population of sea eagles in the area, and one of the highlights is without a doubt when a sea eagle circles a few meters above your head.
Snow shoe easy hiking: As the winter season peaks, everything, including the barrens, woods, and forests in Lofoten gets draped in layers of white powder snow. It’s the perfect time to put on your hiking outfit and surround yourself with the tranquillity of endless snow-covered lands. You will be provided with all the necessary gear and guidelines by your guide. Head to the arctic wilderness of Lofoten and walk on soft snow with your snowshoes on.
Day 4 : Lofoten to Bergen by flight
After breakfast, take the Svolvaer airport transfer and board the flight to Bergen. At Bergen, take the airport transfer and reach your hotel.
Day 5 : Bergen
City sightseeing walking tour includes visit to Bryggen, The Fish Market, Bergen Aquarium, Mount Fløyen Funicular Station, Tollbodkaia viewpoint, Fredriksberg Fortress, Bergenhus Fortress. Take the Floibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen! Check out the spectacular view of the city, fjord and mountains.
Day 6 : Bergen to Oslo
Start your day with ‘Norway in a nutshell’ tour – combination of train, bus and cruise experience. Your luggage would be transferred from Bergen hotel to Oslo hotel. You will visit Naeroyfjord which is one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This deep blue fjord, only 25 metres across at its narrowest point, has towering 1200 metre high cliffs on either side and many waterfalls. Isolated farms and picturesque villages dot the breath-taking landscape. Experience the Flam Railway (Flamsbana) –one of the steepest train lines in the world and a train bound for Myrdal. From Myrdal, you will continue to Oslo in another train.
Day 7 : Oslo
Have a relaxed morning and later take the SIC city tour and visit Inner Harbour Aker Brygge, Vigeland Park, City Hall and Karl Johans Gate Street. Visit the charming Akershus Festning, enjoy nature around Royal Palace and Oslo Nobel Peace Center
Day 8 : Departure
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Airport transfer. End your Norwegian winter experience with wonderful memories!
